Equipment

  • 1 Medium Fry Pan For browning ground beef
  • 1 Small Fry pan For frying tortillas

Materials

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Lauri Lee's Ultra Low Sodium Taco Seasoning more or less to taste
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 12 each low sodium white corn tortillas we use La Banderita
  • 1/4 cup canola oil Just enough to fry tortillas

Optional Ingredients

  • 12 tbsp low sodium salsa
  • 12 tbsp cheddar cheese
  • 12 tbsp sour cream pro tip: Use Lauri Lee's Low Sodium Adobo and/or Zesty Mex Party Dips mixed in sour cream as a topping to give that extra burst of flavor!
  • 1 lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato Diced

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef in a medium skillet over medium heat. Once ground beef is cooked through, drain grease and return to skillet. Add 3/4 cup of water with 1 tbsp of Lauri Lee’s Ultra-Low Sodium Taco Seasoning and simmer on reduced heat for about 5 min.

  • While the ground beef is simmering, fry white corn tortillas in a little bit of canola oil. Start to bend the tortillas in half during the frying process, using tongs to keep slightly open. This will make space to put fillings in the shells.
    1/4 cup canola oil, 12 each low sodium white corn tortillas
  • Once shells are cooked, lay on a plate with paper towels to absorb and reduce oil. 
  • Once shells and ground beef are ready, fill shells with ground beef, cheese, salsa, lettuce and tomato.
    12 tbsp low sodium salsa, 12 tbsp cheddar cheese, 12 tbsp sour cream, 1 lettuce, 1 tomato
